fief- An estate of land
vassal-A holder of land by feudal tenure on conditions of homage and allegiance.
knight-A man who served his sovereign or lord as a mounted soldier in armor.
chivalry-knightly system with its religious, moral, and social code.
serf-An agricultural laborer bound under the feudal system to work on his lord's estate
manor-A unit of land, originally a feudal lordship, consisting of a lord's demesne and lands rented to tenants.
manorial system-an essential ingredient of feudal society, was the organizing principle of rural economy
self sufficient-able to provide for your own needs without help from others
fallow-Plowed and harrowed but left unsown for a period in order to restore its fertility as part of a crop rotation

3,vassal attended the lords for little jobs and also fight for him if necessary. the lord offered protection in return.

 negative- lead to internal corruption.
